64.0 Day +41 to Day +47

Day +41

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your Monday is going well.

It’s the start of week 7.

I slept well, woke up a little tired. No time for stretches, just breakfast, a shower and we were out of the door on our way to the hospital for bloods. Journey time was just under an hour.

While at the hospital, we popped in to see the MacMillan staff and all were happy to see us and amazed at how well I’m doing after 6 weeks. Everyone is saying that my SCT is a huge deal and recovery could be 6-12 months so I’m doing really well.

After bloods, we went for a walk and ended up walking 3 miles, I could have done more but easy does it.

We’re now home, ate a lovely lunch, fish provided by our fish lady, vegetables provided by a veg delivery company based in Borough market, so nothing from our local supermarkets and the quality and taste is so much better.

I’m feeling much better today, recovery truly is a rollercoaster.

After a lovey meal, we had a relaxing evening but then stomach cramps started, we traced the cause to be gf flour we tried yesterday, it appears that my stomach can’t tolerate any flour.

It’s been a good day, mentally I feel much better.

Time for bed.

Good night all, sleep well.

❤️🙏🏽

Day +42

Good evening all, I hope you had a good day.

I slept well when I eventually got to sleep, around 12.45am after the cramps eased.

It’s been a restful day, a little work and not much else. I’ve felt a little tired but that’s due to the late night, physically I feel good, I could have walked a few miles today but thought better to rest rather than push myself.

I’ve been reading a few myeloma support groups and many patients are released from hospital after 6 weeks post SCT where I’ve been walking a few miles after 5 weeks so I must be doing something right, just need to make sure I also rest. I did ride my bike for a minute which felt good, just need my padded shorts as my butt is a little boney these days.

Overall I’m feeling good, mentally much tougher as well.

Time for bed and a good sleep.

Good night all, sleep well.

❤️🙏🏽

Day +43

Good morning everyone, I hope your weekend is going well.

I slept well but woke up feeling tired.

I managed full stretches, stil painful!!

Eaten breakfast and showered, now we wait for my telephone appointment with the consultant.

My consultant called and he informed us that I’m doing very well, all of my blood readings are excellent and I can slowly start seeing people but to still be careful, so no crowds or busy places. I can slowly start pushing myself re exercises so all signs are good.

I’m still absorbing the news so we went for a walk, a good distance of 4 miles.

So, the update from the consultant has been excellent, everything is on track and I should be able to start the chemo earlier than planned which is also good.

I’m feeling happy, slightly apprehensive as the news still sinks in. I’ve felt tired all day but I know I’ll be good tomorrow.

Time for bed and relaxing sleep.

Good night all, sleep well.

❤️🙏🏽

Day +44

Good evening everyone, I hope you’ve had a good day.

I slept well, woke up a little tired, no time for stretches, just breakfast and a shower before we left for a walk, we covered a distance of 4.25 miles, not bad at all, we did 4 miles yesterday. I don’t feel too tired this evening which is a good sign.

Rest and work filled the rest of the day, the rest is really helping. My strength is still low and that will take some time to return.

I’m feeling both physically and mentally good, something that hasn’t happened in a long time.

I had a telephone appointment with Myeloma UK, they interviewed me about my blog and how myeloma has affected me. If they like my story then there’s a chance they may publish it. I will let you know.

The evening has been nice and relaxing, I feel like I’m getting stronger.

Time for bed, trying to get an early night.

Good night all, sleep well.

❤️🙏🏽

Day +45

Good afternoon, I hope you’re well.

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

I slept well, full stretches before breakfast, a quick shower and off we went for a walk. Today we covered a distance of 6 miles so that’s 14 miles is 3 days, what a fantastic achievement. I’m feeling a little tired but not as bad as I thought I would.

It’s been a nice evening, nice and relaxing, Dr N cooked a lovely dinner and we both just chilled.

I’m feeling good, muscles are a little tired. I don’t feel as tired as I used to before, my muscles are tired because of the lack of exercise and I know I will only get stronger. I’m still amazed I managed 14 miles after only 6.5 weeks post SCT.

Time for bed, I think I’ll have a good sleep.

Good night all, sleep well.

❤️🙏🏽

Day +46

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your weekend is going well.

I tossed and turned all night but felt like I slept well.

Today we decided to venture out and met with T & B and new addition J. I haven’t seen them since November, it was so good to catch up, just so cold to sit outside, sadly the cafe was just too busy for me to sit inside.

From there we went to see Dr N’s parents and finally see their new house.

It’s cold and it’s been raining for most of the afternoon, I’m glad I had a walk yesterday.

I’m feeling a little tired today but generally good.

I fell asleep while watching tv this evening, just shows how tired I must have been, I haven’t fallen asleep like that for a couple of weeks. I’m still feeling good.

Time for bed., a nice refreshing sleep.

Good night all, sleep well.

❤️🙏🏽

Day +47

Good evening everyone, I hope you’re having a good day.

I slept well but have woke up with a tweaked muscle in my lower back, I must have slept awkwardly. I did some light stretches which did help.

It’s been a totally relaxing day, I think I needed it, just time to recover from all of the walking.

I’m feeling tired but good and positive.

Time for bed, I’m feeling tired, more so than earlier.

Good night all, sleep well.

❤️🙏🏽
