72.0 Day +97 to Day +103

Monday 7th April to Sunday 13th April

Day +97 - Monday 7th April

Good evening all, I hope you’re well.

I slept well, woke up early, full stretches, no time for a bike ride, breakfast, shower and straight out of the door, some work this morning which finished quicker than scheduled for, we then met with T, J & B for lunch and treats, a lovely day to sit outside, chat, eat and watch B enjoying his treats. Also good to catch up with T & J and how they’re doing. Just shame about the cool breeze.

Back home and we had a visit from Dr N’s parents, drinks in the garden, again the cold breeze didn’t help.

This evening I’m feeling tired, more than usual probably due to subconsciously thinking about chemo next week and the trial in due course. I’m doing good and will pull through.

Time for bed, I feel like I’ll be contemplating.

Good night all, sleep well.

Day +98 - Tuesday 8th April

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely day.

I slept well, woke up a little tired, breakfast was followed by a bike ride, I managed 1 hour with over half of that time on a more difficult setting. The extra breakfast really helped because I felt good at the end of the ride, even a little more energy. Full stretches after the ride and a quick shower.

My appointments are coming through, first chemo session starts early on Monday morning but bloods this Friday.

This afternoon we met up with my aunt and cousins at our local park, it’s been ages since we’ve met up, another nice day but that pesky cold breeze was around. I managed to play some cricket and football with the kids, I’m surprising myself with my stamina, I’ve done lots of activity today and although I’m feeling tired, I’m feeling good and positive.

It’s been a good day, I’m really feeling the benefits of all the treatment, I’ve had an activity filled day and I don’t feel as tired as I used to before diagnosis, I’m now in bed and I still have energy to do things whereas before I would have been tired with hardly any energy.

Time for bed, early start again, I’m having my Covid jab tomorrow.

Good night all, sleep well.

Day +99 - Wednesday 9th April

Good morning all, I hope your week is going well.

I slept well, woke up feeling a title tired and legs are stiff. I really thought I would be in pain and my whole body would be aching but nope, which is excellent news.

Full stretches before breakfast, a quick shower and straight out to my Covid jab.

I have no idea why I had to make a booking, no one checked, just a queue, you get called in, they check you are who you are, jab you and show you the exit. Oh yeah, they said my arm might hurt for 24 hours.

After my jab we went to get Dr N’s vaccinations for her work, while she was getting them, I was outside people watching, it never amazes me what people do when they think no one is watching them, some sweet, some disgusting and some just indescribable!!

Now home, it’s been an eventful day with too much food and I’m feeling so tired and as expected, my arm is hurting and I think I’m overly tired from the jab.

Time for bed and needed sleep.

Good night all, sleep well.

Day +100 - Thursday 10th April

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you’re well.

I slept well, woke up feeling tired, arm still aching from the jab and legs a little stiff. Still managed full stretches before breakfast. A shower and we’re out of the door to celebrate Dr N’s milestone. Lunch will be an outdoor event. We’re also celebrating the fact that I’ve reached 100 days!!!

It’s been a lovely day, good food, fantastic company and the sun was out.

We’re back home, I’m feeling tired now, arm is much better, I feel like I could sleep for hours on end.

Time for bed, another early rise tomorrow.

Good night all, sleep well.

Day +101 - Friday 11th April

Good afternoon all, I hope you’re ready for the weekend.

I slept well, woke up feeling tired, no time for stretches, breakfast, shower and straight out the door, drive to the hospital for my blood test was different, the sat nav took us around the houses to get there, there must be roadworks or something happening on our usual route.

3 tubes of blood today due to the addition of more tests, some for my start of chemo on Monday.

After the blood test we attended a MacMillan coffee morning where we had the chance to meet other Haematology patients, all affected by different cancers, some with Myeloma. It was such a good event which allowed us to finally meet people face to face, share our journeys and generally just chat. All of us are truly unique and such fighters.

Back home and I fell asleep while watching tv, yep, I felt so tired, the nap was much needed. Dinner tonight by Dr N was a healthy grilled fish and air fryer chips with optional peas, very tasty.

Looking back at this morning’s meeting, fitness and diet does play a huge role in treatment and length of recovery because the drugs I take do play havoc with my body but I know I’m doing everything in my power to mitigate the side effects and it’s working.

Time for bed, no need for an early rise.

Good night all, sleep well.

Day +102 - Saturday 12th April

Good morning everyone, I hope you’re ready for the weekend.

I had a mediocre sleep which isn’t surprising considering I was watching tv till late, the programmes kept my thoughts at bay but as soon as I switched the tv off, my thoughts rushed back, the what, if, why, when…Right now I’m at a stage where I’m feeling good, the treatment this time round is what I’ve had before and less the unknown and more the known, I’m worried about the chemo brain, the brain fog, feeling fatigued and generally spaced out. For majority of the next 8 weeks I know I won’t have control of how I’ll feel.

Full stretches before breakfast.

It’s been a relaxing day, I’ve felt tired so just a few chores around the house. I was tempted to mow the lawn but decided to postpone until mid week.

This evening I’m feeling a little tired, energy levels are increasing.

Time for bed, sleep without thoughts.

Good night all, sleep well.

Day +103 - Sunday 23th April

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you’re having a lazy Sunday.

I slept well, first on the list was breakfast, extra portion today, simple stretches and then for the first time in ages I went on road cycling with D, we covered 18 miles in 1.5 hours, we’ve done this route much faster in the past but today D rode slower because of my lack of fitness, much appreciated. We did stop for a quick hot chocolate on our way home and was good to have a catch up. The pesky cold breeze was back as were the clouds today. I enjoyed the ride, felt good at the end. Full stretches when I got home, and a quick shower. I’m feeling a little tired, legs are starting to get a little stiff but generally I’m feeling good.

It’s the evening and I’ve had a good day, yes I’m a little tired but still have energy which is a new positive feeling.

Early night because I have a very early start.

Good night all, sleep well.
