Day +76 - Monday 17th March

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you’re well.

It’s the start of week 12.

I slept well, woke up early, could have slept a little longer. Just stiff legs this morning, otherwise in good health.

Full stretches before breakfast, a little too tired for my bike ride, today will be a rest day.

A lovely restful day, I’m not as tired as I anticipated, my muscles are slowly rebuilding, rest always helps.

I’ve aged since diagnosis, my beard is slowly growing back, most black hairs have been replaced with grey, some people would call it a distinguished look 😜.

Early night, I want to wake up fresh and be ready for a bike ride and then possible gardening.

Day +77 - Tuesday 18th March

Good morning all, I hope your week has started well.

I slept well, actually fell asleep before 11pm. After breakfast I was on my bike, I pedalled for 30 minutes, it was hard work today, I really pushed myself, average heart rate was 156bpm. Full stretches straight after. I’m feeling tired, not surprising as I really pushed myself, but generally feeling good.

A nice sunny day so I ventured into the garden to check the lawn but rather than starting any lawn treatment, I just went back in because it was so cold outside with a cold breeze, too cold to do any outside work, it can wait until it’s a little warmer.

The evening was spent resting, I’m feeling good, legs are feeling a little tired, overall I’m feeling better than I thought I would after my morning ride.

An early night to be up early.

Day +78 - Wednesday 19th March

Good evening everyone, I hope you’ve had a good day.

I had a good sleep, still can’t be asleep by 10.30pm, woke up early and decided it’s a rest day so no bike ride or stretches.

I met T & B for coffee and treats, it was even warm enough to sit outside while the sun was shining. B will do anything for a snack!!

My exercise for the day was to walk to and from the place where I met T & B. The rest has done me good, I feel good, no aches or pains which is also good.

I also attended the monthly MacMillan myeloma support group Zoom meeting, it was good to see everyone and how they’re all doing.

It’s been a nice and quiet day, I really feel like I’m making progress.

Another early night for another early morning.

Day +79 - Thursday 20th March

Good morning everyone, I hope you’re enjoying the lovely weather.

I didn’t sleep too well, no reason why I didn’t. Early rise followed by breakfast and after an hour I was on my bike, I felt good so kept going for 45 minutes. Full stretches and then a rest.

It’s been a restful day, I was tempted to do some gardening but the bike ride did take it out of me and I’ve been feeling a little tired. I could have cycled more, just my energy levels were low, I should have had more breakfast. I’m just glad I’m now at 45 minutes.

Another lovely sunny day, I did want to be out in the sun for too long hence no gardening but I’ll try and do some tomorrow.

This evening I’m feeling a little tired, very happy to see that my fitness is increasing and I can push my body without feeling tired like I use to before diagnosis.

Time for bed, it won’t take me long to fall asleep.

Day +80 - Friday 21st March

Good afternoon all, I hope your week went well.

I think I slept well but woke up feeling tired, not totally refreshed.

Full stretches before breakfast, no bike ride as I just haven’t got the strength.

After my shower I did push myself to do a little gardening, nothing more than that. I intend on resting this afternoon, I think I’m still recovering from my bike ride yesterday, it usually takes me 2 days to recover whenever I’ve really pushed myself. My legs do feel a little heavy but generally I’m feeling good but tired.

I pushed myself and did some gardening with Dr N, had to get it done because it’s going to rain and we didn’t need to water anything. I’m glad I did it, still feeling tired however it’s a good tired it that makes sense, I’m not exhausted, I’ve never felt like this which makes me think all of the treatment is working.

Stomach was a bit weird this evening, no idea why, all meals have been ultra healthy, no junk food at all.

Time for bed, I need sleep.

Day +81 - Saturday 22nd March

Good evening all, I hope your weekend is going well.

I slept well, woke up feeling tired and heavy legs. Full stretches before breakfast, body was saying no, mind was saying yes so I went down the middle and took my time doing them.

Dr N was doing an early park run event so she left early while I showered and walked to the park to watch her run her final lap and cross the finish line. My only exercise was walking there so a total of 2.25 miles, not bad considering I’ve been tired. The walk did me good, my legs needed the workout.

Back home I had to do some gardening, water the lawn areas I treated yesterday and also hang some foil on string across the same lawn patches to stop the greedy pigeons from eating the seeds, they’ll eat anything!!!

The evening has been restful but my stomach hasn’t felt right since my afternoon coffee, no idea why but could just be a bug. This is my new reality, I can quite easily pick up a virus or infection without doing anything stupid, just could be something as simple as touching something outdoors and not sanitising my hands.

Dinner was plain oat cakes and a banana, oh yes I know how to live!!!

Feeling out of sorts this evening, a little tired and generally okay.

Time for bed.

Day +82 - Sunday 23rd March

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely Sunday.

I didn’t sleep until past midnight, my stomach wasn’t too well. Woke up feeling tired, I really think I have a virus, still no idea how I’ve got it.

Full stretches before breakfast and then rest, lunch was healthy, no snacks, stomach has been letting me know not all is well. I’ve just been exhausted, even fell asleep while watching tv.

It’s been a quiet day, food has been bland which appears to have agreed with my stomach, no adverse effects.

I’m feeling less exhausted this evening, still lacking some energy which will change once I’m better.

Early night so I can wake up full of energy.
