Monday 7th July
Good morning everyone, I hope you slept well.
I had a good sleep, I think I fell asleep just after 10.30pm, woke up just before 6, first action was to add to my 24 hr container, yep, I’m being proactive and started the 24 hr urine collection yesterday without anyone asking just to be ready. No exercises this morning, I may try a few stretches later. Showered and now just hanging around, obs didn’t arrive at 6am but someone came in while I was in the shower, no doubt they’ll return. Breakfast trolley should make an appearance soon. Nothing but rain at the moment, may have to be a day stuck indoors, I could always roam around the hospital but I need to be away from people.
Obs done, the nurse is from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, it’s a small world. I’ve requested another urine container, another nurse came to check to make sure the first one is full, she came out of the bathroom and said ‘it’s nearly full isn’t it’, no, I’m not going to say it!!!
A huge bowl of porridge and hot water, now that’s my kind of breakfast, just missing honey and a banana.
2 tubes of bloods have been taken. I have no idea when the duty doctor or trial team will attend, the trial team usually after midday as they have clinics in the morning.
Cleaning lady has come and gone, she doesn’t really talk much.
Lunch and dinner has been ordered, now I think I have a little walk around the ward.
Morning meds have been given and swallowed.
The doctors, yep, 3 of them, the main man is the consultant I saw at the very beginning when I was diagnosed. So, the drug is somewhere, the courier company is communicating with the hospital and it should be here today, worst case scenario tomorrow. The other Doctor then went through the test where I wrote a sentence, and a few other tests, I scored 10/10 😂😂😂. Now I wait.
They confirmed that I can go for a long walk and they will call me if I’m needed back urgently.
I just started my walk and the clinical trial head consultant called me to say the drug is not here, can’t guarantee when it will be here so I can go home rather than take up a bed. Once the drug is on site, they will get me in as a matter of urgency. I’m just waiting for one of his team to come and see me before I leave. All a bit mad.
I’m on my way home, it’s quite chilly.
I’m home, ate lunch, and done some work. Time to rest.
I fell asleep on the sofa while watching tv, I must have been so tired both physically and mentally. This evening I’m still feeling physically and emotionally tired, a good sleep will work wonders.
Time for bed, I have an early start tomorrow, just some work to keep me busy rather than sit at home.
Good night all, sleep well.

Tuesday 8th July
Good afternoon everyone, I hope you’re well.
I slept well, woke up feeling a little less tired. I woke up at 5am, to be ready and out by 6.30am, no time for exercises.
No phone calls from the hospital so far, it’s a lovely day so I need to go for a walk.
Wednesday 9th July
Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is going well.
I slept well, even managed an extra couple of hours. Woke up feeling tired, not much energy. Breakfast then I had to really push myself to complete my stretches. I’m going to fine tune my diet today to see if I can overcome the tiredness.
It’s a cloudy day, not too much sun so ideal for a walk, let’s see how my legs hold up.
We walked 2.2 miles today which was good, I pushed myself and glad I did.
This evening I’m feeling tired, not as bad as I have been so the diet adjustment seems to be working, let’s see how I am over the next few days.
In the next few days, my blog will be transferred to a new system, the only difference for you will be a new link to the blog, I will keep you updated.
No news from the hospital today.
Time for bed, an early night always helps.
Good night all, sleep well.

Thursday 10th July
Good afternoon everyone, I hope you’re well.
I slept well, woke up less tired, full stretches first thing, I did have to push myself. Breakfast and rather than riding my bike, I decided to clean my car, both inside and out. In all, I spent 2.5 hours out there. I think the diet change is working, I do feel less tired.
To be continued…
