71.0 Day +90 to Day +96

Monday 31st March to Sunday 6th April

Day +90 - Monday 31st March

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you’ve had a good day.

I slept well but not as good as the previous few nights.

Today I have an appointment for a blood test, to be ready for my appointment with the consultant on Thursday. So early rise, breakfast, shower and straight out.

Drive in was without issue, we arrived early so had to hang around, the place was busy today but from what I remember, Monday is a busy day.

Blood given and a quick visit to their MacMillan centre and then we left. Drive home was also without issue, if we’d left 30 minutes later then we would have caught the school traffic.

It’s been a lovely sunny day but there’s been a cool breeze.

Now home, I’m feeling tired, probably the walking from the last few days catching up with me so, the evening is planned full of rest.

This evening I’m still tired and ready for bed.

Good night all, sleep well.

Day +91 - Tuesday 1st April

Good afternoon, I hope you’re enjoying the lovely weather.

I slept well, woke up a little tired. Breakfast was followed by a bike ride. Today I managed 45 minutes, it was easier than last time but was flagging at the end, I surprised myself because I thought I’d only manage 15-30 minutes, my fitness is definitely improving, the hiking over the last few days has also helped.

After some work, we went for a walk, ended up covering a distance of 3 miles. It’s been a day of work and exercise. I did have a nap while watching tv, rest is always good.

I’m feeling good this evening, tired which is to be expected but I’m so happy with my progress.

Each day has its highs and lows and today it’s been a day of highs.

Time for bed and much needed sleep.

Good night all, sleep well.

Day +92 - Wednesday 2nd April

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your day is going well.

I slept well, woke up a little tired and legs a little stiff. Full stretches before breakfast which helped, shower and then straight out of the door to get my car washed, seagulls near the coast really do unload a huge load. I then had some work to do before coming home and having lunch with Dr N. After a rest, Dr N headed to the gym while I headed to my bike, another 45 minutes was completed, thats 2 days in a row, a fantastic achievement. Stretches and a shower straight after. We’re on the road to fitness!!

Im feeling tired this evening, legs are stiff but I’m so happy with my progress. Dinner next.

It’s been a relaxing evening, tired with stiff legs but very happy.

Early night ready for an early start, I have an appointment with my consultant tomorrow.

Good night all, sleep well.

Day +93 - Thursday 3rd April

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you’re well.

I slept well, woke up feeling good, tired and a little stiff.

Full stretches before breakfast, a quick shower and straight out of the door, it’s appointment day.

We followed an alternative route in, must be roadworks on our usual route. No issues getting in, our arrival was early so we found a nice place to have lunch outside, the sun was shining but the damn wind really put a dampener on lunch. We did walk 3 miles.

Back at the hospital now, I’ve checked in and await for my name to appear on the big board to be summoned.

The consultant was running late but we didn’t mind waiting, when we were called, he was very happy with my progress and explained what treatment I will receive over the next two months and also the potential of joining a medical trial after the treatment completes. The trial will be for remission.

To summarise what was discussed, I am immunocompromised and will be for rest of my life. This means my immune system will be extremely weak and I will be prone to viruses and infections. This will never change. I will be on medication for the rest of my life, this will consist of tablets and possibly injections. As long as I keep myself safe and careful, just as I’m doing now, I should be okay.

Also saw the pharmacist to discuss all the tablets I’m about to start taking for the chemo, somewhere in the region of 15 tablets 2 days per week for the duration of the chemo.

We’re now home, just missed the drive time rush. I’m feeling tired so a little dinner and then rest.

It’s been a long day, lots to digest, lots to be happy about and what’s next for me.

Time for bed, less thinking and more sleeping is required.

Good night all, sleep well.

Day +94 - Friday 4th April

Good afternoon all, I hope you’ve had a good week.

I didn’t sleep too well, several thoughts in my head. I woke up feeling tired, legs a little stiff.

Breakfast followed by full stretches, too tired for a bike ride today, a shower then work. After lunch, I’ve been resting. I feel both physically and mentally tired but so positive with my progress and results. Today is a rest day which I think I really needed.

It’s been a nice and easy evening, my thoughts have calmed down and I’ve come to terms with what’s coming my way. I’ll always have sleepless nights but that’s part of the process for me to think about things.

I’m feeling tired, strong and ready for the next round of treatment. Mentally I feel so much stronger and positive than the first round of chemo, I know it will be a rollercoaster ride but I’m ready.

Time for bed and an early start.

Good night all, sleep well.

Day +95 - Saturday 5th April

Good evening everyone, I hope your weekend has started well.

I slept well, no stretches today, just breakfast, shower and straight out of the door, to central London, parked up and our exploration started, we covered a distance of 6 miles, I’m feeling tired now, I did feel a little tired when I woke up but glad I walked as much as I did. Always up for some exercise.

Now home, I intend on resting.

So many thoughts in my head from Thursday, me and Dr N had a chat and basically I just need to get my head round how remission will potentially be. I just worry about potentially having long term chemo brain, my immune system being even lower than it is now but no one knows, I’m probably worrying about nothing, just nice to get the thoughts out and talk about them. I’m a fighter so I’ll deal with anything and with Dr N by my side, we’re ready.

I’m a deep thinker and I’ll forever look at things from different angles. A good trait I have is being able to step back and pull myself away from being negative and down. Bring it on!!!

Time for bed, just need a good sleep.

Good night all, sleep well.

Day +96 - Sunday 6th April

Good morning everyone, I hope you’re well.

I slept well, still a little tired when I woke up. Breakfast and then on my bike, today I managed an hour which is a first for a very long time. Full stretches after. I’m feeling good but a little tired, glad I pushed myself on the bike.

It’s been a resting day, the sun was out, just shame about the breeze.

I’m feeling tired but good, less thoughts, feeling more positive, it’s just the unknown again which pops into my head.

Early night to be ready for an early start.

Good night all, sleep well.
