Day +55 - Monday 24th February
Good morning all, I hope you’re well.
It’s the start of week 9.
I tossed and turned for most of the night, my back was aching. I woke up tired and actually not as much pain as I thought I would be in.
Full stretches followed by breakfast and a shower.
Today has been a work and rest day mainly because I’ve been feeling tired, and for the first time in a long time my leg muscles have aches but in a good way telling me the exercise is slowly building up my muscles.
No exercise at all today, I should be ready for a bike ride tomorrow.
I’m feeling tired but positive today, I just need to overcome my back pain and that will allow me to have a good sleep. On that note, it’s bedtime.

Day +56 - Tuesday 25th February
Good evening everyone, I hope you’re well.
Another night of tossing and turning and back pain but not as bad as lastnight.
I’ve decided to give my back a rest so no stretches and as I’m feeling tired, no bike ride, just breakfast, shower, followed by work and then rest.
I’m feeling less tired than yesterday, probably made worse by not sleeping well.
It’s been a relatively quiet day, I think I’m also recovering from the active weekend.
Early night to try and be ready for exercise in the morning.

Day +57 - Wednesday 26th February
Good evening everyone, I hope your week is going well.
I had a better nights sleep, woke up early and after breakfast I managed 15 minutes on my bike, even pushed myself and I felt sure felt tired after. Full stretches and a shower followed. By this time I wasn’t feeling too bad.
Next on the agenda was work and then early afternoon we went for a walk, we covered a distance of 3.3 miles, I probably could have walked more. My fitness is improving.
I’ve been resting this evening, feeling good, back is much better, no leg muscle aches so the signs are good.
Early night again, feeling good, not too tired.

Day +58 - Thursday 27th February
Good evening all, I hope you’ve had a good day.
I slept well, still a little back pain, woke up early but could quite easily have slept for another couple of hours.
Breakfast, then full stretches, I was tempted to ride my bike but glad I didn’t because I would have pushed myself too much.
I met T and B for coffee and treats, dogs will do anything for food, even a small treat. It was good to catch up but boy was it cold, when the sun came out of hiding, it was pleasant.
The rest of the day was spent resting. This evening I’m feeling good but tired, mentally I’m very positive.
Time for some restful sleep.

Day +59 - Friday 28th February
Good afternoon everyone, it’s the end of the week!!
I slept well, full stretches as soon as I woke up, after breakfast and a shower, we loaded my car with several bags of rubble and quite a few old used bricks and Dr N’s car with a few more bags of rubble, both then went to our local recycling centre to empty both of our cars. By the time we finished, it felt like we’d been to the gym for a workout.
Back home, both car’s parked up, we got changed and set off for a walk. Our pit stop was a local park where we had lunch, tasty jacket potatoes with cheese and beans, a good dose of carbs. Sitting in the sun was lovely but the cold crept in as soon as the sun went for a break behind a cloud. Our walk continued and by the time we returned home, our total distance was 7.25 miles. Not bad at all!!! I’m feeling good, not as tired as I thought I would be. My legs feel good, a little heavy but ready for more walking.
It’s been a lovely relaxing evening, I’m feeling tired but good and positive. I now need to get to bed.

Day +60 - Saturday 1st March
Good evening all, I hope your weekend is going well.
I slept well, full stretches as soon as I woke up, breakfast, shower and I was out of the door. Dr N has already left to get to her park run and I was rushing to meet her at the finish line. Unfortunately I was too late, I was 5 minutes late. We met at the park and walked to a nearby cafe for a morning coffee. Like the last few days, when the sun was out the temperature felt lovely but as soon as the sun hid behind a cloud, it was so cold. From there we walked to Dr N’s car and a drive home. So I had walked 2 miles today even though my legs were saying no.
We were planning on a day out but tiredness soon kicked in and I just needed rest, I did push myself yesterday and again today and it finally caught up with me so we decided to stay home.
I’m feeling tired and extremely positive, if it wasn’t for the tiredness, I’d be more than happy for another walk or exercise.
It was the right decision to rest, now time to sleep and be ready to explore tomorrow.

Day +61 - Sunday 2nd March
Good evening everyone, I hope you’ve had a splendid weekend.
I slept well, still have a slight pain in my lower back, I think we’ll contact my nurse specialist tomorrow and report the issue.
No stretches this morning, a day off so after breakfast and shower we headed out for a day in the sun, we ventured to central London, no public transport, just us in our car, and luckily it didn’t take long to find a parking space.
A beautiful day, hardly a cloud in the sky, nice and warm in the sun, the shade still a bit chilly. A nice lunch and a lovely stroll while we discussed whatever was on our minds. Today was a day we needed, just away from home, a sunny day, both relaxed and it allowed us to unwind.
Home sweet home, apparently we had strolled for over 3.5 miles, not bad at all, it really has been a few days of exercise. I know I’m getting fitter because it’s only taking me one day to recover rather than the usual two.
It’s been a restful evening, I’m feeling a little tired but generally good, I’m feeling more happier and positive. Over the last few days, I’ve done more exercise than I could have dreamt of after such a short time since my SCT, my body is also reacting to it and the aches and pains are decreasing. I’ll be cycling on the roads before too long.
Time for bed. The end of week 9.
