53.0 Tuesday 3rd December – Sunday 8th December

Tuesday 3rd December

Good evening all, I hope you had a good day.

I had a good sleep, probably because I was so tired. My internal alarm goes off between 6.30am and 7am. I was downstairs and making breakfast by 7.30am.

Even though I was still a little tired, I pushed myself to ride my bike for 15 minutes, I’m glad I did, my legs were achy before the ride but felt better after. Full stretches after the ride as well.

It was DIY morning, I completed a few jobs and then showered. I didn’t fancy a walk today.

Nothing much else was planned for today, I just wanted to rest after the long day at hospital yesterday. I don’t think I’m radioactive anymore!!!

I feel more with it today, my mind feels clear and at ease, yesterday’s appointment really helped.

I had a telephone call from a friend and in the background I could hear his wife telling him to ask me questions, she actually made sure he called me. The funny thing is that I’ve only met her once. Such a lovely family.

I’m hoping to get on my bike again tomorrow, as well as going for a walk.

Time for bed, I’m feeling relaxed this evening.

Good night all, sleep well.

Wednesday 4th December

Good evening everyone, I hope you’re well.

I slept well, could always do with another hour…after breakfast I managed 30 minutes on my bike, my fitness is slowly getting better.

Stretched and showered, as the weather looked good, we decided to go for a walk. There was fine rain as soon as we started walking. Golfers hate fine rain because that’s the type of rain which gets you very wet. Our walk took us around a lock park and back home via a long route, our total distance was 4 miles.

The afternoon involved a little work, cooking and rest.

By the evening, I thought my legs would be aching but nope, I’m not sure if the ache will appear in the morning. I do feel good, not as tired as I thought I would be. I’m not sure if that’s just my fitness or a mixture of fitness and my body beating the myeloma.

Today has been a good day and good preparation for the stem cell harvest.

Time for bed, I’m feeling relaxed and looking forward to a good nights sleep.

Good night all, sleep well.

Thursday 5th December

Good evening all, I hope you’re well had a nice day.

I had a good sleep, woke up at 6am, call of nature, back to bed and up again at 7am.

I felt a little tired but after breakfast I managed 30 minutes on my bike which felt good.

It’s been a quiet day, the weather has been atrocious, rain all day and windy this evening.

Today was the first day of my injections to stimulate my stem cells. Dr N took 2 injections out of the fridge at 5.30pm to get them to room temperature. At 6pm, Dr N administered both injections to my stomach area. All went well, no reactions yet, the main one being bone ache. Let’s see how it goes.

I’m feeling tired today, not surprising as I’ve been on my bike for 3 mornings in a row, there’s a possibility I’ll be riding again tomorrow, let’s see how I sleep and if there’s any reactions from the injections.

Time for bed and some much needed sleep.

Good night all, sleep well.

Friday 6th December

Good evening all, I hope you’ve had a stress free day.

I had a good sleep, legs feeling a little heavy but otherwise I felt good.

It was a sunny day, cold but sunny so we decided to go for a long walk. We started the 7 park walk in reverse, and it was a lovely walk, the rain really left its mark yesterday, lots of areas in various parks were waterlogged but the birds loved it. By mile 7, I was getting tired but we continued, maybe a little slower. By park 6, the time was nearly 4pm and the light was slowly fading so park 7 was missed. By the time we reached home, a distance of 10.3 miles had been achieved. Not bad at all!! It’s been a very active week for me, 3 days on my bike and then the walk, I haven’t done this much exercise since pre diagnosis. My legs are really feeling the tiredness but they’re also feeling the effects of the injections, bone ache, luckily only mild.

This evening Dr N administered injection numbers 3 and 4, another 4 to go.

I’m feeling generally well, tired from all of the exercise and a little pain from the injections. Overall I’m feeling pretty good.

Time for bed, I think I’ll be sleeping really well, I’m feeling exhausted.

Good night all, sleep well.

Saturday 7th December

Good evening everyone, I hope your weekly is going well.

I hardly slept lastnight, around 4am I am stomach cramps which lasted till the morning.

The weather has been horrible, just rain and heavy winds all day, so much so that we had to reinforce our front garden fence, sadly it need rebuilding so for now we will have to settle for a quick fix.

I’ve felt tired all day, I’m feeling the effects of the injections, my legs are heavy and my lower back is sore. Dr N administered injection numbers 5 and 6, only 2 more to go.

Today was a day full of tv and good food, we had fish pie, the right meal for such a cold and miserable day.

I haven’t been able to get comfortable today and still feeling tired.

Time for bed, I really need a good sleep.

Good night all, sleep well.

Sunday 8th December

Good evening everyone, I hope you’re all safe and well.

I had a good sleep, woke up semi refreshed. My lower back and legs are painful, this is because of the injections. The pain feels like I had a bad back and my legs like I’ve had a major workout. It’s my bones which are aching. No stomach cramps.

Today has been another washout. The wind has damaged our front garden fence, a panel has fallen down and brickwork is damaged.

Another day we haven’t been able to go for a walk, I didn’t get on my bike either because of the pain. I want to be ready for tomorrow, the last thing I want to do is have aching bones and muscles while I’m laying on the bed connected to a machine. I won’t be able to move much so I need to be comfortable. Yes, you could say I’ve been thinking about the procedure.

I had a bit of a wobbler this evening, just the fact that my life has changed, there are things which I now have to think twice about before even deciding whether I can do them. Will I be able to fly? Will I be able to take the train or public transport? I know I’m going to be prone to getting infections and viruses much more easier than before. And so much more….basically it’s how I’ve been living my life since June. My diagnosis means I’m restricted in what I do, but because of me, Dr N is also sadly restricted. We will adjust and be stronger!!!

We’ve had several calls and messages today, thank you all for your good wishes ❤️🙏🏽

Dr N administered injections 7 and 8 this evening, all now done.

Time for bed as we have to wake up at 4am, it’s an early appointment.

Good night all, sleep well.

❤️🙏🏽
