40.0 Wednesday 16th October – Monday 21st October

Wednesday 16th October

Good morning all, I hope you had a great evening.

I slept well, although the steroids made sure I didn’t nod off until way past 12.30am.

I’m feeling a little tired but generally good.

Breakfast eaten, I’ve managed 60 minutes on my bike which is a huge bonus and boost.

Stretches and shower next then some work on my laptop. I then plan to rest because the effects of the steroids and injection are due to wear off.

It’s been a restful day, I attended a myeloma support group zoom meeting. Each case of myeloma is truly unique and it’s good to hear and learn about their experiences and may lay ahead for me. Above all, exercise and diet will always help in the fight.

I’m feeling tired, muscles are also tired but that’s all down to the exercise. Generally I’m feeling good.

Time for bed, an early start tomorrow.

Good night all, sleep well.

Thursday 17th October

Good morning everyone, I hope you’re well.

I didn’t sleep too well, I finally nodded off at 1am and had to wake up at 6.30am so feeling sleep deprived. Also feeling tired.

No time to stretch, maybe later, breakfast eaten and have had a quick shower.

We met T & B for coffee and treats, lovely morning but there was a cool breeze.

As the day has gone on, I’ve become more tired nearly on the verge of feeling fatigued. I think it’s down to the lack of sleep. I’m glad I spent the afternoon and evening resting. Not much else happened today.

Time for bed, I hope I can fall asleep quite quick.

Good night all, sleep well.

Friday 18th October

Good morning all, I hope you slept well.

I had a good sleep but fatigue and tiredness are slowly taking over, my muscles feel like I’ve done a rigorous workout.

Breakfast eaten, stretches and shower completed, now I’m going to rest. I’m finding it difficult to concentrate and my head feels very woolly, this is called chemo brain. My eyes are still very dry as well.

Today has been a bad day, I’ve been fatigued all day and feeling tired, I couldn’t even manage a walk today so I’ve just rested. I started the week feeling good and as the week has gone on, fatigue and tiredness took over. I’ve given up trying to predict how I’m going to feel. There’s one thing all the medical and support staff say ‘don’t be hard on yourself’

I’ll be pushing myself tomorrow and making sure I go for a walk.

Time for bed and a good sleep.

Good night all, sleep well.

Saturday 19th October

Good morning everyone, I hope you slept well.

I had a good sleep but fatigue has hit, I’m feeling tired and my legs feel so heavy.

Breakfast and stretches completed, a quick shower and now a bit of rest.

It’s been such a lovely sunny day, we met friends at a park we’ve never been to and we enjoyed it. I’m glad we went out, a nice change of scenery and also so good to catch up.

More relaxing this evening, I’m feeling less fatigued but tiredness is still there. My legs still feel heavy.

Time for bed, good sleep and ready for tomorrow’s adventure.

Good night all, sleep well.

Sunday 20th October

Good morning all, I hope you had a lovely evening.

I slept well but fatigue is still present as is the tiredness.

Breakfast eaten, I managed doing my regular stretches, haircut and shower done.

Not much planned for today, the weather looks bad. If the rain clears then a walk may be on the cards.

Today has been a bad day, fatigue and tiredness really hit so nothing but rest was achieved.

Time for bed, still feeling fatigued and tired, I hope a good sleep will start lifting the fatigue.

Good night all, sleep well.

Monday 21st October

Good morning all, I hope you’re well.

I slept well but woke up feeling exhausted. Fatigue is still present.

Breakfast eaten, I pushed myself to get on my bike trainer. I managed 30 minutes which was very difficult. I’m glad I did it, let’s see how I am for the rest of the day. Stretches and shower next.

I thought I’d give you a glimpse into my medication routine.

On a Monday, as soon as I wake up, I take a tablet. I can’t eat anything for an hour after taking it.

After breakfast, I take 6 tablets.

At around 5.30pm, I take 2 tablets, then around 6.30pm, after dinner, I take 2 tablets. The final 2 tablets have to be taken 2 hours after my last meal. I can’t eat anything then go to bed.

The number of tablets I take varies each day.

It’s been a restful day, I managed to do a few things on my laptop but my concentration still isn’t good.

By late afternoon my fatigue and tiredness was lifting which is a good sign.

Not much else was achieved today.

Time for bed as we have a very early start tomorrow.

Good night all, sleep well.
