31.0 11th Infusion Treatments (chemo)

Good morning everyone, I hope you had a great evening.

I slept well, feeling less fatigued but still a little tired.

Breakfast eaten, I forced myself to get on my bike and I managed 30 minutes, I could have done more but I have a long day ahead of me.

Stretches next then a shower.

Today we have a fatigue workshop to attend which we’ll do online from home after which we will make our way to the hospital. When we arrive, it’s bloods, followed by bone strengthening treatment and then lastly chemo treatment.

The fatigue workshop was very informative. The main thing is to keep active. Sadly not many people realise that fatigue and tiredness are completely different.

We’re now at the hospital, bloods done, we even made a donation to the haematology charity.

Next is the bone strengthening treatment.

Bone strengthening was straight forward, I was there for 30 minutes, then onto chemo.

Chemo was running 2 hours behind schedule. The reason for this is because the hospital manufactures the drugs for the various chemo treatments and they have a new boss for that department who has implemented a new system so there’s either teething problems or the new system just doesn’t work. From a patient’s perspective, why change a system which was working?

Now home and a quick bite to eat followed by rest and an early night.

Time for bed. After having 4 needles stuck in me today and a total of 22 tablets, I’m feeling more tired than fatigued this evening, head is floating but that’s down to the pre chemo tablets, I even have more energy than yesterday.

Good night all, sleep well.
