Wednesday 10th July
Good morning, it’s been a good night, no side effects, but I don’t think I had much deep sleep which is understandable because the drugs are doing their things around my body.
This morning I have a combination of 15 tablets to take, so far I’m 1 down, now I’ll do my stretches and a possible lite workout, breakfast in about an hour, followed by 14 tablets, and then more this evening.
Breakfast eaten, tablets swallowed, puncture winds checked and passed, Nisha is flying around the house doing the housework while I’m hitting the shower, we’ll reconvene in the lounge ready for a walk, not sure how long but we’ll have a few pit stops. It’s so overcast, no sunshine just yet.
The doorbell rang, we thought it was a delivery but oh no, it was our neighbour C, and she had a surprise for us…banana bread totally unexpected and very delicious, I’m still wondering if D played in any part of the baking 😜. Thank you both so much 🙏🏽

We’re out, firstly we visited my mother who loaded us up with home made cassava, yum!!!
So far, 3 miles have been walked, it’s rained a bit but it’s quite warm, we’re at our first pit stop, 2 decaf oat lattes and a homemade granola square.

Now, which direction do we go??
A total of 7 miles was walked today, not bad at all. I’m feeling ok, Nisha is more tired than me 🤣🤣🤣. Now we intend to relax.
Nisha prepared a lovely chickpea, tuna and cassava salad, followed by yogurt and banana for desert.
Time to watch tv, football tonight 😜.
I have a side effect, I can’t stop hiccuping!!! It’s annoying!!!
Good night all 🙏🏽
Thursday 11th July
Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful evening!!!
I slept well, feeling a little tired but that’s probably because I slept at midnight and body clock woke me up at 5.15am. I’m feeling good though. Stretches completed, breakfast eaten and a quick rest before I start my mini weights workout. It’s going to be a quiet day today, I have a few chores, continue with my online nutrition course and then watch TSF, Wimbledon and some other crap tv. I’ll check in later to update on how I’m feeling today 🙏🏽
Only 5 tablets this morning!!!
It’s been a nice lazy day, lunch followed by some chores, then Wimbledon, other tv programmes and before too long, it was dinner time…doesn’t time fly!!!
Only 3 tablets this evening.
Still feeling a little tired tonight so we’ll be having an early night.
Friday 12th July
Good morning everyone, how are you all??
I had a good sleep, in bed and asleep by 10.15pm. Did wake up at 4.15am for a call of nature but then managed a couple more hours of sleep. I’m feeling less tired today, just some brain fog.
Luckily for us, our local pub has a garden so this allows me to meet my friends T & B for a coffee. Well, coffee for T, mint tea for me and treats for B. It’s a bit chilly today but was nice to just get out for an hour.

Now home, I think lunch first and then maybe continue my online course, let’s see how I feel.
It’s been an up and down day today, slight brain fog still there but I’m feeling ok, just a little tired.
Spent most of the afternoon trying to fix my laptop, it kept me busy but a new laptop is now needed.
Just making dinner, pearl barley risotto with salmon tonight.

Healthy dessert, kefir yoghurt with a banana.
3 tablets for tonight.
I think it’s going to be another early night tonight, I should be refreshed by the morning.
I bid you all a good night, if I think of something, I’ll update this page.
Thank you all for your continued support and prayers, you have no idea how much it helps. This thing is mentally so tough but Nisha has been a God send and your messages are keeping me positive. ❤️🙏🏽
Saturday 13th July
Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a lovely evening. I’m feeling much better this morning, I think the early night really helped.
So, let me tell you about my daily routine at breakfast time.
I start my day with a dose of Symprove, this is a very good probiotic, it’s expensive but way better than any other out there, and believe me, I’ve tried them all. Thoroughly recommend it. After taking the dose, you’re not allowed to eat or drink anything for 10 minutes so I spend this time preparing my porridge for the next day. The bowl starts with prunes, then jumbo porridge oats, finished with chia seeds, I then add boiling water and set it aside to let it do its thing.
After 10 minutes, I take my first tablet of the day, this one has to be taken before any food.
Next, I start my stretches with the addition of either core or weights workout. Today it’s just stretches as I’m going on a bike ride tomorrow with our neighbour T.
It’s now time to get my porridge ready, this means 2 minutes in the microwave, then add strawberries and blueberries, mixed seeds, a teaspoon of manuka honey and finally some chopped mixed nuts. Once this has been eaten, I have the pleasure of taking 3 tablets, I then sit down and enjoy a mug of hot water. The number of tablets always increase on the day of chemo and the day after.
Because I’m also on blood thinners, my arm is slow in recovering from the cannula they put in on Tuesday…I’ve still got a bruise and swelling.

I’ve had a diy haircut, then we showered, completed a few chores, just finished lunch and it’s time to watch Wimbledon and the ladies final.
Just finished a lovely dinner, chickpeas, spinach and brown rice, with a banana for dessert.
It’s been a nice relaxing day, I’m feeling ok this evening, another early night as I’ll be up early for our bike ride. No idea how it will go but I’m looking forward to it.
3 tablets for tonight, 2 were taken straight after dinner, the last one has to be taken 2 hours after food. The whole tablet regime starts again in the morning.
We’re going to watch a film now and then up to bed.
Goodnight all, sleep well and I’ll report back in the morning.
❤️🙏🏽
Sunday 14th July
Good morning everyone. I’ve been up since 5.15am so I can take my tablets, have my breakfast take more tablets and then get ready for our bike ride.
Such a beautiful morning, perfect for a bike ride. T was ready and we set off at 7.30am. T hasn’t cycled for approx 2 years and I have cycled for about 3 weeks, I was worried about my fitness and the effects of the tablets and chemo. T was more worried about his bike. I’m glad to say we both survived a lovely 18 mile ride through lovely countryside. We were back by 9.30am and that included a coffee stop, thanks for the hot chocolate T and coming out for the ride.
I really needed the ride, it confirmed that I’m on the right path re my fitness for the treatments ahead, I’m determined to cycle every week. Time will tell.
I’m going to have a protein shake, oat milk with pea protein powder, then some coconut water to get my electrolytes back on song, I’ll then stretch before a shower and then relax. It’s a day where the patio door stays open and you just enjoy the sounds of nature.
Lunch has been eaten and the Wimbledon final is about to begin!!!
I’m feeling good today, a little tired but that’s to be expected, I just need to fuel up a bit more and I should be ok.
Going to be dinner time soon, feeling a little tired but glad with how the day has gone, just hope I feel good tomorrow so will be having another early night.
Thank you for all the positive wishes, thoughts and prayers today ❤️🙏🏽
Tennis was fun, football was a disappointment!!!
Time for bed, good night all.
❤️🙏🏽
Good morning everyone, hope you all had a lovely weekend.
It’s Monday, the start of a new week. I’m feeling good this morning, not as tired as I thought I would be after yesterday’s bike ride so that’s good. I slept well, woke up at 5.18am, usual time but then managed to fall asleep again and wake up at 6.30am so I’m sleeping better.
The morning consisted of my usual stretching combined with a sit-up routine, followed by breakfast and today I had 5 tablets. A quick shower and straight to the dentist, hygienist first and then a checkup. I have my mask on so you get the usual looks 🤣. I’m waiting outside as the waiting room is busy.
Nisha is working today, she really didn’t want to go in but I’m glad she did. I can guarantee she’ll be checking up on me before too long!!
I have my 2nd chemo infusion treatment so that’s going to be in the back of my mind. I’m not really worried about it as I know what to expect.
It is truly a small world, my dentist’s sister works in haematology under my consultant. No major issues with my teeth though the advice is to keep up the oral hygiene as the chemo may affect my gums. Another thing to be wary of.
Very overcast today so I’m glad I’m now home, I’ve ordered my laptop and now I’ll read and relax.
After dinner we went to wish my mother a very happy birthday, sadly we couldn’t stay too long but it’s was lovely to see everyone. As usual, we didn’t leave empty handed, a slice of birthday cake and a few cupcakes were packed for us.
Only 3 tablets tonight, but I know I’ve got so many more for tomorrow.
It’s absolutely hammering down with rain here, even had some thunder. Another early night as it’s going to be a long day tomorrow. I think we’ll watch an episode of something and then bed.
Good night all, sleep well.
❤️🙏🏽
Enjoy your boke ride
